Spend the morning to visit Cu Chi Tunnels to discover weapons and underground bunkers. The immense networks of tunnels were used by Viet Cong soldiers as hiding spots during combat, as well as serving as communication and supply routes, hospitals, food and weapon caches and living quarters for numerous North Vietnamese fighters. The tunnel systems were of great importance to the Viet Cong in their resistance to American forces during the Vietnam war. If you wish, you can crawl through the authentic Viet Cong tunnels and try the local cassava which fighters sustained themselves on for years.
Drive back to the city center, visit Presidential Palace, where used to be home and workplace of presidents of the South Vietnam government during the Vietnam war.
