Day 1: Arrival in Hanoi – Welcome Dinner

Welcome to Hanoi, the thousand-year-old capital of Vietnam. Upon arrival, your local guide and driver will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel in the city center.

Check in, relax and enjoy some free time to explore Hanoi at your own pace before the journey officially begins.

In the evening, meet your guide again and enjoy a welcome dinner at a local restaurant, where you can discover some of the distinctive flavors of Northern Vietnamese cuisine.

Day 2: Hanoi City Tour – History, Culture & the Old Quarter

After breakfast at the hotel, begin your exploration of Hanoi's most iconic cultural and historical landmarks.

In the morning, visit the Ho Chi Minh Complex, including the exterior of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, his traditional Stilt House, the Presidential Palace, and the One Pillar Pagoda – important landmarks associated with Vietnam's modern history.

Continue to the Temple of Literature, originally built in 1070 as a temple dedicated to Confucius. It later became Vietnam's first university and remains an important symbol of the country's long-standing tradition of valuing education.

Enjoy lunch at KOTO, a well-known social enterprise restaurant founded to provide vocational training and opportunities for disadvantaged young people.

In the afternoon, visit the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, home to an extensive collection showcasing the cultures, traditions, lifestyles and architecture of Vietnam's 54 ethnic groups.

Continue with a one-hour cycling tour around Hanoi's Old Quarter, famously known as the “36 Streets.” Its narrow, lively streets are filled with traditional shops, local businesses and everyday life.

In the evening, enjoy a fascinating water puppet show, a unique Vietnamese traditional art form combining folk stories, live traditional music and colorful puppets performing on water.

Return to the hotel after the show.

Day 3: Hanoi – Duong Lam Ancient Village – Countryside Cycling Experience

After breakfast, leave central Hanoi and travel to Ky Son Village, a peaceful rural area near Duong Lam Ancient Village, famous for its traditional houses, some of which are more than 200 years old.

Around 10:00, arrive at the local homestay, enjoy a welcome cup of fresh green tea and spend some time exploring the property and the surrounding village.

Next, take part in a traditional Vietnamese cooking class, learning how local families prepare some of their favorite dishes using fresh regional ingredients.

After lunch, enjoy a relaxing traditional herbal hand treatment, followed by free time to chat with your host family, learn about local customs and discover everyday rural life.

In the afternoon, choose between a 6-kilometer short cycling route or a 12-kilometer longer route.

The cycling experience takes you through local farming communities, village roads and rice fields. Along the way, visit local schools and cultural sites, meet friendly villagers and, depending on the season, observe or participate in traditional farming activities.

In the evening, return to the homestay and enjoy local produce before relaxing with a traditional herbal steam bath. Experience a peaceful evening with a local family, enjoy a home-cooked dinner and discover more about rural Vietnamese culture.

Day 4: Hanoi – Ha Long Bay – Overnight Cruise

Start the morning with a traditional Yijinjing exercise session, followed by breakfast before departing for Ha Long Bay.

Travel through the scenic Red River Delta, passing rice fields and peaceful rural villages before reaching Ha Long Bay around midday.

Upon arrival, board your Ha Long Bay cruise, enjoy a welcome drink and complete the check-in procedure. A delicious seafood lunch will be served as the cruise begins sailing through the spectacular limestone islands and islets of the bay.

In the afternoon, explore Sung Sot Cave, one of the most impressive and famous caves in Ha Long Bay. Continue to Titov Island, where you can choose to go kayaking, swimming or simply relax on the beach.

As the sun sets, enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and breathtaking scenery of Ha Long Bay from the cruise deck.

In the evening, savor a delicious seafood dinner while enjoying the tranquil beauty of the bay at night. Depending on the cruise schedule, you may also take part in activities such as squid fishing or simply relax on board.

Day 5: Ha Long Bay – Hanoi – Overnight Train to Sapa

Wake up early and enjoy the beautiful sunrise over Ha Long Bay with a cup of hot tea or coffee.

After breakfast, take a small boat to explore Luon Cave, a peaceful lagoon surrounded by limestone cliffs. Depending on the conditions, you can explore the area by kayak or traditional bamboo boat.

Continue cruising through Ha Long Bay and admire more of its remarkable limestone formations before returning to the harbor and checking out.

After lunch, travel back to Hanoi by road. Upon arrival, enjoy some time to rest at a small hotel before heading to the railway station.

In the evening, board the overnight train to Lao Cai, the gateway to the spectacular mountain region of Sapa.

Day 6: Sapa – Cat Cat – Y Linh Ho – Ta Van

Arrive at Lao Cai Railway Station early in the morning. Transfer by vehicle to Sapa town for breakfast and some time to relax.

Afterward, begin your trekking adventure through the spectacular mountain landscapes of Northern Vietnam.

Leave the busy town behind and trek downhill to Cat Cat Village, a traditional village of the Hmong people. Along the way, visit a waterfall and an old hydroelectric power station before continuing along scenic trails surrounded by terraced rice fields.

Trek beside a small stream and enjoy breathtaking mountain scenery while discovering the traditional lifestyle of local ethnic communities.

Arrive at Y Linh Ho Village, home to the Black Hmong people, where you will take a break and enjoy lunch.

In the afternoon, continue through the magnificent Muong Hoa Valley, one of Sapa's most scenic areas, renowned for its spectacular terraced rice fields.

The trekking route continues through Lao Chai and Ta Van, home to the Black Hmong and Giay communities.

At the end of the day, check in at a local Giay homestay, surrounded by peaceful mountain scenery. Enjoy free time to walk around the village or relax by the nearby river.

Day 7: Ta Van – Giang Ta Chai – Su Pan – Sapa – Overnight Train to Hanoi

After breakfast at the homestay, continue your trekking adventure to Giang Ta Chai Village, home to the Red Dao ethnic community.

The trail takes you through lush bamboo forests in the Hoang Lien National Park area, along scenic mountain paths and past a beautiful waterfall where you can stop to rest and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

After lunch, continue to Su Pan, a small mountain village. From here, a vehicle will transfer you back to Sapa.

In the evening, travel down to Lao Cai Railway Station and board the overnight train back to Hanoi.

Day 8: Hanoi – Departure

Arrive at Hanoi Railway Station early in the morning. Transfer to a hotel where you can take a short rest and enjoy breakfast.

Afterward, you will be transferred to the airport for your international flight home or your onward journey.

Your unforgettable 8-day Northern Vietnam adventure comes to an end, taking you from the historic charm of Hanoi and peaceful rural villages to the spectacular landscapes of Ha Long Bay and the breathtaking mountain trails of Sapa.
