8:00 – 8:30: The bus picks up guests at hotels in the Old Quarter or at the Opera House to begin the Hanoi city tour. In the morning, the group will visit:
Tran Quoc Pagoda – West Lake: Located on an island in the eastern part of West Lake (Tay Ho District), Tran Quoc Pagoda has a history of nearly 1,500 years. It also features a centuries-old Bodhi tree originating from India and is considered the oldest pagoda in Thang Long – Hanoi. The pagoda’s architecture harmoniously combines solemnity and ancient beauty with a serene lakeside landscape. It was once the center of Buddhism in Thang Long during the Ly and Tran dynasties.
Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Complex (including the Mausoleum and stilt house area): This is where the great leader lived and worked from 1954 until his final years. Here, guests will learn about his simple lifestyle. Visitors also have the chance to visit the One Pillar Pagoda, one of Hanoi’s four iconic symbols.
Note: On Mondays and Fridays, the Mausoleum is closed for maintenance. Guests will only visit the exterior, followed by the stilt house, fish pond, and One Pillar Pagoda.
Vietnam Museum of Ethnology: This museum preserves and displays cultural artifacts of all 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam. It is one of the newest and most interesting museums not only in Hanoi but in all of Vietnam. The museum includes both indoor and outdoor exhibitions. The indoor section provides detailed information, while the outdoor displays feature traditional ethnic houses, especially from northern and Central Highlands ethnic groups.
On Mondays, the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology is closed and will be replaced by a visit to the Vietnam Women’s Museum.
Lunch: The group has lunch at a restaurant in the Old Quarter and rests. Guests may take a short walk after lunch to explore the famous “36 streets” of Hanoi.
Afternoon: The tour continues with:
Temple of Literature – Imperial Academy: Considered the first university in Vietnam, this ancient architectural complex was built in 1073 and remains well preserved today. It was dedicated to Confucius, the founder of Confucianism, and Chu Van An – the rector of the Imperial Academy, representing the high moral values of Vietnamese education.
Hoa Lo Prison: Formerly a prison in Hanoi, also known as the Central Prison or ironically as the “Hanoi Hilton,” it was built during the French colonial period in Indochina. Partially demolished in 1990, it is now a museum.
16:00: End of the Hanoi city tour. The bus will take guests back to their hotel or, upon request, drop them off at the Ham Ca Map area for free exploration (all additional expenses are self-paid). Guests may visit:
• Hoan Kiem Lake (Sword Lake) and explore the French and Vietnamese architecture around the area, visit Ngoc Son Temple dedicated to Văn Xương Saint and General Tran Hung Dao, and The Huc Bridge
• Take a cyclo or electric car ride around the Old Quarter and Hoan Kiem Lake
• Purchase tickets to watch a water puppet show

• Drinks during meals and other personal expenses
• Entrance fees for sightseeing outside the program
• Other services and expenses not mentioned in the itinerary
Tips for driver and tour guide:
If guests are satisfied with the service of the driver and tour guide, tipping is optional and at their discretion. It is not mandatory, but the customary minimum is 50,000 VND per guest per day.
Mandatory tip for foreign guests: 3 USD per guest per day.

• When visiting the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Complex, shorts or skirts above the knee are not allowed

• Any services included in the tour but not used by guests are non-refundable
• The tour guide has the right to rearrange the order of sightseeing locations depending on specific departure conditions, while still ensuring all destinations in the program are visited
